Helen spent her early years in Tasmania moving to Western Australia(WA) in 1970. Educated at University of Western Australia (Bachelor of Economics) moving to Sydney in the early 1980's.
After a stint with The Ministry of Employment (NSW Govt.) in policy she changed careers to film and theatre.
The costume departments in film productions afforded travel throughout Australia and on set experience. While opportunities with The Sydney Theatre Company, Bangara and Sydney Dance Companies as well as Opera Australia provided excellent costume training.
Through the late 1990's Helen spent time time working on Children's TV Productions and adult Telemovies.
Returning to WA over 10years ago Helen became involved with costume history through Harvey Districts Historical Society (HDHS and Friends of Battye Library (FoBL).
